Shayda was founded in 1974 (1353) in Iran
by Mohammad Reza Lotfi. Since its inception, Shayda has been active in promotion,
preservation, and progression of Iranian Classical Music through music education
and production. After the revolution in 1979, Shayda operated under the name "Chavosh"
which produced several records. In 1987, Ustad Lotfi expanded the organization
by bringing it to the United States. Shayda is now active both in Western Europe
and North America and its sister organization, Ava-ye-Shayda, is working in
Iran.
Shayda offers music instruction to all who are interested through the following
forums.

also Talks on Music appreciation, Radif Theory, Explorations in Rhythm and
Instruments.
